Supervisory IT Specialist

The following are the duties of this position at the GS-13 level. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position. As a Supervisory IT Specialist, you will:
Implement and execute performance management activities in accordance with CEC procedures, to include the development of Individual Development Plans, providing formal and informal performance feedback, and provide recommendations on disciplinary actions involving personnel . Oversee the overall planning, direction, and timely execution of major project areas. Find and implement ways to eliminate or reduce significant bottlenecks and barriers to productivity, promote team building, and/or improve business practices. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with Agency managers. This is strengthened by participating and representing TSD (Technical Support Division) in attendance of local and internal committees (i.e., State Food and Agriculture Council and FAC). Review and respond to customer feedback, and acts as liaison to resolve customer concerns or complaints. You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. Specialized experience at the GS-13 level:
For the GS-13, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience for this position includes:
- Accomplishing projects that required knowledge of IT requirements and techniques; AND - Supervising or leading a team of employees, and/or oversees IT support contract(s) that carry out the daily IT support requirements of end-users, customers, or business partners; AND - Interacting with an IT organization on initiatives; AND - Providing liaison and pertinent information between an organization and customers; AND - Providing progressive improvements and more cost effective service to the customers. Specialized experience at the GS-12 level:
For the GS-12, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience for this position includes:
- Accomplishing projects that required knowledge of IT requirements and techniques; AND - Leading or managing projects and tasks that carry out the daily IT support requirements of end-users, customers, or business partners; AND - Interacting with an IT organization on initiatives; AND - Providing liaison and pertinent information between an organization and customers; AND - Providing progressive improvements and more cost effective service to the customers. In addition to meeting specialized experience, individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. Attention to Detail- Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Customer Service- Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. Oral Communication- Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Problem Solving- Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. Time-in-Grade:

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
