Express Specialized Recruiting Group is looking for an experienced Project Manager for a wonderful, local automotive business in Auburn, AL.
Summary:
Provides the Corporate Program Management APQP activity for new and changed programs
Supports the completion of onsite APQP activity in conjunction with the manufacturing site General Manager and staff
Coordinates the launch activity for new and changed programs with the General Manager and staff, by performing the following duties personally
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT AND APQP
Provides Customer and Corporate APQP liaison for the Technical Director, the Director of Sales, Designers, Tooling Engineers, and Processors
Provides Customer manufacturing site APQP liaison for the General Manager, Quality Engineer and Supervisors
Initiates and maintains an APQP Program Management job file for new and changed programs which includes an APQP Program History and Status Sheet, APQP Time Line, and APQP Open Issues List
Reviews the design and build of molds, assembly equipment, automation equipment and fixtures with suppliers
Prepares and submits purchase requisitions for molds, fixtures, and equipment to Corporate Executives and General Manager
Coordinates with tooling, fixture, equipment, material suppliers and the Customer for tryouts
Coordinates with the Customer and manufacturing site General Manager for the tryout of tooling, fixtures, equipment and materials
Coordinates the Customer review of Corporate APQP documentation including APQP Time Line, APQP Program History and Status sheets, APQP Open Issues List, design records (engineering change notice, math data, prints, specifications, materials, bill of materials with item costs), Customer purchase orders, tooling and fixture supplier purchase orders, DFMEA, DVP&R, and/or Customer Specific APQP Requirements
Reviews these documents and designs for compliance with engineering principles, the Organization's standards, Customer requirements and specifications, safety and hazardous materials requirements, and Lessons Learned
Initiates Engineering Change Notices
Maintains a Tooling, Fixture, and Equipment cost spreadsheet
Reviews these documents for completeness for compliance to Customer Specific Requirements
Prepares or coordinate the preparation of required on site APQP documentation personally or through associates.
Prepare draft Process Flow Diagrams and PFMEA'S for new or changed programs for APQP program reviews. Finalize PFD and PFMEA after program review. Forward APQP items to manufacturing site Quality Engineer
Confers with General Manager and Quality Engineer to discuss site concerns regarding design, engineering, testing, tolerances, scheduling, and /or packaging and to obtain resolution of these concerns with customers prior to production
Coordinates functional engineering approval with the Customer
Assigns and oversees project personnel to specific phases or aspects of project such as technical studies, product design, preparation of specifications and technical plans, and product testing.
Evaluates design changes, specifications, and drawing releases
Prepares, maintains, and distributes the APQP Program Job File, APQP Time Line, and the APQP Open Issue List through an intranet server
Provides APQP status and progress reports to Corporate Executives and site General Manager through on site meetings or through the intranet server
Interfaces with Customers and the manufacturing site to provide functional engineering and launch support and ensure customer needs are met.
Maintain compliance with ISO/TS16949:2002 requirements within the onsite program management activity.
Maintain compliance with the ISO14001:2004 requirements within the onsite program management activity when implemented by the Organization
Maintain compliance with OSHA requirements within the onsite program management activity.
Maintains a working knowledge of government, safety and environmental legislation and/or regulations
Maintains a working knowledge of MSDS and IMDS reports requirements
Observes safety and security procedures; reports potentially unsafe conditions; uses materials and equipment properly.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversees Manufacturing Process Coordinator and Process Technician
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
University or college degree, or Mold Makers certificate, and/or 5 years of related experience, or a combination of training, education and experience
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of Customers, suppliers, managers, and employees
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only a limited standardization exists
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
